chatterbox | charladora | xerrameca is a celebration of the vivid, unpredictable energy that defines both life in Catalonia and the creative process itself. In this joint exhibition, Australian artists Anne Hastie and Caroline Phillips explore themes of transformation, play, and the unexpected. Through a diverse body of work, they delve into the joy of discovery in their respective mediums—Hastie in painting, Phillips in sculpture and installation—offering a shared response to the exuberant pulse of Catalan life.
Hastie’s 2D works are a vibrant exploration of light, colour, and texture, often drawn from the everyday yet infused with the exuberance of Catalonia’s unique cultural landscape. Through bold brushstrokes her works dance between abstraction and representation, creating spaces that invite the viewer to pause, reflect, and engage with the fleeting moments of life.
Phillips’ 3D pieces engage with the materials themselves, transforming discarded objects and humble materials into dynamic, playful forms. Her installations create an immersive dialogue with space, inviting the viewer to experience their surroundings in a fresh way. Through her work, Phillips celebrates the tactile, the imperfect, and the beautiful that arises from materials that carry histories of their own.
Together, Hastie and Phillips offer a dialogue between contrasting forms and mediums, each playing with the materials at hand to create works that challenge, provoke, and delight. In the quirky interplay between light, colour, texture, and form, the work becomes more than an exhibition, chatterbox | charladora | xerrameca becomes a celebration of the wonder that emerges when life, art and the unexpected collide.

Esta exposición colaborativa reúne las obras de dos artistas Australianos que actualmente residen en España; Anne Hastie, pintura y grabadora, y Caroline Phillips, escultora y artista de instalaciones. Una serie de obras en 2D y 3D provocan una conversación animada entre las artistas, sus materiales y el espacio de la galería, capturado en una interacción estrafalaria entre la luz, el color, la textura y la forma. Desde objetos cotidianos reutilizados hasta medios tradicionales de artes visuales, estas obras revelan una respuesta compartida a la energía vivida e impredecible de la vida y al propio proceso creativa.

Aquesta exposició col.laborativa reuneix les obres de dos artistes Australians que actualment resideixen a Espanya; Anne Hastie, ointora I gravadora, i Caroline Phillips, escultora I artista d’instal.lacions. Una sèria d’obres en 2D I 3D provoquen una conversa animada entre els artistes, els sues materials I l’espai de la galeria, capturats en una peculiar interacció entre llum, color, textura I forma. Des d’articles quotidians reutilitzats fins a mitjans tradicionals d’arts visuals, aquestes obres revelen una resposta compartida a ‘energia viva im imprevisible de la vida I el propi procés creatiu.
